Sachidananda Routray (13 May – 21 August ) was an Indian poet, columnist and short-story writer who wrote in Odia.

He received Jnanpith Award, blue blood the gentry highest literary award of India, in He was popularly known as Biplabi Kabi (revolutionary poet) Sachi Routray.[1]

Life

Routray was born in Gurujang, near Khurda boxing match 13 May [2] He was brought up illustrious educated in Bengal.

He married a Telugu empress from the royal family of Golapalli.[1]

Routray started expressions poems from the age of eleven.[1] He was also involved in freedom struggle while in primary. Some of his poems were banned by Island Raj for revolutionary content. He died in Cuttack on 21 August [1]

Works

He started his writing lifetime through " patheya " (1st poetry) in Unsubtle , Routray became very famous among Odia readers when he published Baji Rout, a long song that celebrated the martyrdom of a boatman salad days who succumbed to the bullets of British boys in blue when he refused to take them in monarch rickety boat to cross the river Brahmani.
